Sportswear, shoes and bags from Vietnam's export factories
You sell trainers, active wear or bags and want factory surplus in good condition. Vietnam is a major exporter of footwear and sportswear, and its overruns suit buyers who sell performance and casual lines.
Typical contents of a Vietnam lot
Vietnam lots lean towards sport and outdoor lines. Expect running and casual trainers, sandals, track pants, shorts, jackets, performance tops and bags such as backpacks and sports bags. General apparel lots also appear. See footwear stock lots and bags and accessories for the category view.
North and south: two factory regions
| Region | Areas | Ports |
|---|---|---|
| South | Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An | Cat Lai, Cai Mep-Thi Vai |
| North | Hanoi, Hai Phong | Hai Phong |
Surplus comes from production overruns, orders cut after production and colourways that a buyer dropped late. Because many factories make for export programmes, the goods are usually new, carton packed and labelled for the original market.
Inspecting a Vietnam footwear or sportswear lot
- Pairs and sizes. Ask for a size curve per article. Footwear lots can be heavy in some sizes and thin in others.
- Inner boxes. Check whether shoes come in individual boxes or bulk packed.
- Season and style. Ask which season the styles are from so you can price them right.
- Logos. Sportswear surplus often carries brand marks. We tell you whether marks stay, get removed or need a release from the brand owner.
- Faults. Ask for photos of any B-grade pairs, such as glue marks or colour shading.
Routing Vietnam lots to Saudi ports
| Destination | Port | Usual route |
|---|---|---|
| Jeddah and Red Sea coast | Jeddah Islamic Port | From Cai Mep or Hai Phong, often with a hub transhipment |
| Eastern Province | King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam | Sea to Dammam, or via Jebel Ali and road |
| Riyadh, Qassim | Dammam then inland | Sea to Dammam then road or rail |
The route depends on schedules at the time, so we confirm it per order. Saudi customs is run by ZATCA. You pay 15% import VAT, and most goods carry the GCC common external tariff of 5% on value, though some lines differ by HS code. Your importer of record needs a Commercial Registration and customs registration. SABER, the SASO conformity platform, applies to many consumer goods, and some textile, footwear and children's items fall under SASO technical regulations. Whether your lot needs a SABER certificate depends on the HS code, and we check that before shipping.
Footwear lots need correct country of origin marking for Saudi clearance. City guides: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al Khobar and Makkah.
Vietnam lots for African buyers
East African buyers take Vietnam lots through Mombasa for Kenya and Dar es Salaam for Tanzania, both with PVoC checks on regulated products. Durban serves South Africa, where clothing and footwear need country of origin labelling. For Egypt, GOEIC keeps a register of foreign factories and brand owners for garments and footwear, so we check the factory status before quoting. West African buyers receive through Lagos for Nigeria or Dakar for Senegal.
Direct sailings and Dubai consolidation both work for Africa. We confirm the route per shipment.

What does Vietnam export most in stock lots?
Sports footwear, sportswear and bags, plus general apparel. Vietnam is a major exporter of footwear and sportswear, so production overruns in these lines appear often and suit shoe and active wear sellers.
Which Vietnam ports do stock lots leave from?
In the south, Cat Lai near Ho Chi Minh City and Cai Mep-Thi Vai. In the north, Hai Phong. The port depends on where the factory is.
Are Vietnam footwear lots boxed?
Some come in individual shoe boxes and some are bulk packed in cartons. Ask for the packing method on each offer, since it affects how you resell the pairs.
Can I sell branded sportswear surplus from Vietnam in Saudi Arabia?
Resale of branded goods can raise trademark questions. Before you buy, we tell you whether the brand marks stay, must be removed, or need a release from the brand owner.
Do Vietnam garments need GOEIC registration for Egypt?
Egypt's GOEIC keeps a register of foreign factories and brand owners for garments and footwear. Goods from an unregistered factory can be refused, so we check status before quoting. See Egypt.
Can Vietnam lots reach Dammam?
Yes. Lots ship to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, sometimes with a transhipment, or land in Jebel Ali and go on by road. We confirm the route per order.
