Importing new stock lots into Egypt, factory checks first
In Egypt, the factory behind your lot matters as much as the price. You need to know its GOEIC status before you commit, and we check it with you.
Egyptian importers and the Cairo trade
Egypt is a large consumer market with its own garment industry, so imported lots need to earn their place on price and range. Importers in Cairo supply wholesalers and retailers across the city, and the Al Muski market area is one of the old centres for wholesale trade. Buyers look for branded fashion, kids wear, shoes and home textiles bought below normal wholesale cost.
Global Pioneer is a Dubai trading company, active since 2017. We have no office, licence or agent in Egypt. We work with your import company and clearing agent. The Africa stock lot hub covers other markets, and Arabic readers can use our North Africa page in Arabic.
GOEIC factory registration and ACI on Nafeza
Egypt's GOEIC keeps a register of foreign factories and brand owners for many consumer goods, including garments, home textiles and footwear. Goods from an unregistered factory can be refused at the port. So before we quote a lot to you, we check whether the factory that made it is registered. A cheap lot from an unlisted factory is not a bargain.
Egypt also requires Advance Cargo Information. The importer pre-registers the shipment on the Nafeza platform before it is loaded. We send the supplier details and documents needed for that filing. We confirm the route and documents per shipment.
Ports and routes into Egypt
| Source | Port of discharge | Route to Cairo | Documents to plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangladesh | Alexandria, Port Said or Damietta | Road from the port | GOEIC factory registration, ACI via Nafeza |
| China | Port Said, Alexandria or Ain Sokhna | Road from the port | GOEIC factory registration, ACI via Nafeza |
| Vietnam or Cambodia | Ain Sokhna or Port Said | Road from the port | GOEIC factory registration, ACI via Nafeza |
| India | Ain Sokhna, Port Said or Alexandria | Road from the port | GOEIC factory registration, ACI via Nafeza |
| Consolidated at Jebel Ali | Ain Sokhna or Port Said | Road from the port | Each factory in the load checked for GOEIC status, ACI via Nafeza |
Ain Sokhna sits on the Red Sea side, which suits cargo coming from Asia and the Gulf. Port Said, Alexandria and Damietta are on the Mediterranean. Your clearing agent will say which port works best for your business. For a mixed Dubai load, every factory in it must pass the GOEIC check, so mixed lots take more preparation. The general process is in how to import stock lots to Africa.
Categories for the Egyptian market
- Branded and unbranded fashion surplus from Bangladesh and Vietnam.
- Kids wear for back-to-school and the summer season.
- Footwear and bags from China and Cambodia.
- Towels and bedsheets from Indian home textile mills.
All lots are new and unworn. They come from export surplus, cancelled orders, production overruns and end-of-season stock. B-grade pieces with minor faults are disclosed. See the five sources compared to plan your range. Buyers who also serve Sudan can read the Sudan page.

Does the factory need GOEIC registration for garment lots into Egypt?
For many consumer goods, including garments, home textiles and footwear, yes. Goods from an unregistered factory can be refused. We check the factory's status before quoting any lot to you.
What is ACI and who files it on Nafeza?
ACI is Advance Cargo Information. The Egyptian importer pre-registers the shipment on the Nafeza platform before loading. We send the supplier details and documents you need for the filing.
Which Egyptian port is best for lots from Asia?
Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea is close for Asian and Gulf cargo, while Port Said, Alexandria and Damietta are on the Mediterranean. Your clearing agent picks what suits your business.
Do you have an office in Cairo?
No. Global Pioneer has no office, licence or agent in Egypt. We work from Dubai and deal with your import company directly, while your clearing agent handles the Egyptian port.
Can I mix lots from different factories in one container?
Yes, through Jebel Ali consolidation. Each factory in the load must pass the GOEIC check, so a mixed container takes more preparation. Kifayatullah confirms what is possible.
Are the lots new or second-hand?
New only. Every lot is export surplus, cancelled orders, overruns or end-of-season stock. Any B-grade items with small faults are disclosed before you commit, so you can price them correctly.
Can Al Muski wholesalers buy directly from you?
We sell to importers who can clear goods into Egypt. If you trade in Al Muski without an import company, work with an importer who handles GOEIC and Nafeza steps.
