New surplus goods for Accra and Ghanaian wholesalers
You trade around Makola or supply shops across Ghana and want lots that clear Tema without surprises. Here is how we source, ship and document them.
The Accra buyer we work with
Makola market in central Accra is where many Ghanaian traders buy and sell clothing, fabric, shoes and household goods in bulk. Wholesalers there and in other parts of Accra supply smaller shops around the country. Our buyers are these wholesalers, importers who fill their own stores, and retailers who want new stock at a cost below a fresh factory order.
We are a Dubai trading company and have no office or licence in Ghana. You or your clearing agent clear the goods at Tema. We handle sourcing, packing lists and shipping to your port.
Getting lots into Tema
Tema is Ghana's main container port and the usual choice for Accra. Takoradi in the west is the second port. We quote whichever has the better sailing from the source.
| Source | Port of discharge | Inland leg |
|---|---|---|
| Bangladesh, via Chattogram and a hub port | Tema | Short road trip to Accra |
| China, from Ningbo, Shanghai or Shenzhen | Tema, sometimes Takoradi | Road to Accra or Kumasi |
| Vietnam, from Cat Lai or Cai Mep-Thi Vai | Tema | Road to Accra |
| Cambodia, via Sihanoukville and a transshipment hub | Tema | Road to Accra |
| India, from Nhava Sheva, Mundra or Chennai | Tema | Road to Accra or onward |
| Consolidated mixed lots via Jebel Ali | Tema | Road to your store |
Not sure which country suits your category? The source countries compared page lays it out. For detail, see Bangladesh knitwear and denim lots, China footwear and mixed goods, Vietnam sportswear lots, Cambodia garment lots and India cotton and home textile lots.
Paperwork for Ghana: GSA and the ECOWAS tariff
Ghana applies the ECOWAS common external tariff, which sets duty bands by HS code. Your clearing agent works out the duty on each line, so an accurate HS code matters. The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) checks regulated goods. Some textile, footwear and children's products may fall under its rules, depending on the product.
- Commercial invoice and packing list, matched line by line.
- Bill of lading and certificate of origin from the source country.
- HS code and fibre content for each garment line.
- Any GSA requirement that applies to your product category.
We confirm the documents per shipment before the container is loaded, so you can brief your agent early.
What goes into a Ghana lot
Every lot is new: export surplus, cancelled orders, overruns or end-of-season stock. We do not supply second-hand clothing. Minor-fault B-grade pieces are rare and always disclosed. Lines that suit Ghanaian buyers include men's shirts and trousers, women's tops and dresses, kids wear for back-to-school, footwear, bags, and home textiles such as towels and bedding.

Which port should I use for stock lots to Accra?
Tema is the main container port and the closest to Accra, so most lots go there. Takoradi is an option when a shipping line offers a better service. Kifayatullah confirms the port when he quotes.
Does the Ghana Standards Authority check imported clothing?
The GSA checks regulated goods, and some textile, footwear and children's products may fall under its rules. It depends on the item. Ask your clearing agent for the current position, and we confirm the documents per shipment.
How is import duty worked out for a stocklot into Ghana?
Ghana uses the ECOWAS common external tariff, with duty bands set by HS code. Your clearing agent applies the band for each line. We give you an HS code and description for every line in the packing list.
Can I buy kids wear lots for back-to-school in Ghana?
Yes. Kids wear and school-age basics are a regular category from Bangladesh, India and Cambodia. Send Kifayatullah the age range and sizes you need, and he shares the lots on hand.
Are your lots for Makola traders new or second-hand?
New. Our lots are export surplus, cancelled orders, overruns or end-of-season goods. We do not trade second-hand clothing, and any B-grade pieces are disclosed before you pay.
Is Global Pioneer registered in Ghana?
No. We are a Dubai trading company with no office or licence in Ghana. We ship to Tema from the source country or Dubai, and your clearing agent handles Ghanaian customs.
